Kedar Dash, Managing Director, Indev Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. (Indev) believes that `Technology plays an integral role in every sphere of life. Be it nutrition or energy management at domestic level, involvement and deployment of technology are significantly seen and felt.' He finds health, nutrition, and education to be the major challenges in human development. Therefore, to fight them with ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) for creating a better future, he started Indev Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. in 2009.

Indev provides ICTs solutions and consulting services to bridge development challenges. Indev is developing technology products and solutions for various development interventions that are implemented with government agencies, privateentities, CSR programs, and not-for-profit organizations. With expertise in a plethora of ICT tools and technologies, the New Delhi headquartered company has demonstrated its capability in technologies including, open-source, mobile platform, Internet of Things (IoT) and other utilities.

Niche Projects
Indev Consultancy works closely with its partner organizations to realize their vision by using appropriate technology solutions, required process orientation, and handholding the change management to ensure a smooth transition. Some of the company's best projects include Nutrition Monitoring System with JSW Steel, IIT Bombay, IDEA Vodafone, Jubilant Bhartiya Foundation, TINI; Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises(MSME) Portal with UNDP, Technical Support to the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation through World Bank, Skilled with Icrisat, Learning Management System, Shiksha Guru (School Management System), JubilantSmart (Mobile Based Attendance System), and more.

Nutrition Monitoring Sys-tem is a mobile-based monitoring system that helps people to measure their height, weight, hemoglobin, and more in an offline mode. All these saved data are transferred to the server once the mobile gets internet connectivity. The idea behind making an offline application was based on the fact that most of the rural areas to date don't have great internet connectivity. Therefore, every application that Indev develops works in offline mode. The organization has been working on this system for the last five years with some of the bigwigs in the industry like JSW Steel, Idea-Vodafone, Jubilant Bhartia Foundation, IIT Bombay on nutrition, and more. Indev is implementing `Suddrirha Bharat Program ­ A flagship initiative of JSW Foundation,' which is being implemented in Palghar district. This application also monitors the health of pregnant and lactating women.

Indev's next big product is the School Management System. Jubilant Bhartia Foundation to strengthen the Indian education system and to improve the learning environment in government schools. It aims to bring sustainability and affirmative balancein the education system. The duo teamed up together and came out with the system of monitoring the

educational system to keep a record of things that are more easily accessible. The system is designed with a focus on eliminating the stress of registering the information of the students manually. Some of its features include students profile management, student attendance, teacher's leave management, generating student's report cards, and more. Today, Indev has successfully implemented this system in 200+ government schools in states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and many more.

Indev has also developed an ERP for the eye hospitals where the focus is mainly on treating cataract. This program developed vision centers to provide free eye care services with the latest technological advances in ophthalmology to the poor and needy people of rural communities. It is working with TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute in developing Hydrological model for urban planning which will be used in dealing with disaster effectively. Indev is working Arz - Anyay Rahit Zindagi to combat online commercial sexual exploitation of women by creating a platform Stoptrafficking.org. It is closely working with FXB India Suraksha, Save the Children. Indev has collaborated with Think through Consulting (TTC) in the development of ICT based platform for system strengthening by providing advance analytics solution and management consultancy.

Indev has developed an innovative product for Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex that provides customized information to farmer. This project is deployed in Srilanka and many countries in Africa. Indev has started its work on IoT and has developed a couple of products for health and energy sector. These products are in pilot testing stage and will be deployed in scale soon.

The Journey So Far
The initial years of Indev were quite challenging. Motivating people to resist technological change and embrace them, and finding the right team was the major one. Kedar firmly believes in hiring people who haven't got an opportunity in their life. Indev recruit such candidates, nurture, guide, and help them in building excellence within them. The company provides one-year of rigorous training where they are exposed to several new technologies. It also helps them in building their interpersonal skills. Today, Indev has 260+ employees, out of which 70 per cent people working in the head office are less than 25 years of age.

With a financial growth of 100 percent year-on-year, Indev has succeeded in leaving behind lasting impressions amongst its clients. It has added new partners and recently started working with the World Bank and Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, TINI - The India Nutrition Initiative (Tata Trust), UNDP, and NSDC. It is supporting the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin program by managing their IT based MIS for Training Management.

It also started working with some of the U.S. and African clients. It has developed a Grant Management System for one of the African clients based out of Burkina Faso. It is working with Institute for Transformative Technologies in designing rural energy delivery system. Indev also plans to expand its geographical presence in countries of Africa and Southeast Asia.

Indev is working in latest technology such as Laravel Development Framework with MYSQL and PGSQL for web development, Android Development Framework with SQLite and JSON for Mobile Application Development, Python for data analysis, Raspberry-pi and Arduinocoupled with advance sensors for IoT development.

Currently, Indev has a solution-driven approach, and it is working on to make it a product-driven approach. It is already in the process of getting CMM 3.
