The world has witnessed that all businesses do better when there is no gender bias in the workforce. Women's involvement and participation in the business world are also quite visible in economic growth. The new age of women prefers to work, explore, learn and break the glass ceiling in the corporate world. In India, many startups are run by women, and many factors drive the women workforce to join startups.

According to a survey by Bain & Company, more than 45 percent of Indian women in rural areas were driven to start a business to gain recognition. Another factor is results. Women-led startups provide 35 percent higher ROI compared to those led by men. The ability to generate more returns encourages women to join startups. And women being keen and faster learners are finding jobs with startups a better option than with those established corporates that continue to work on an idea that might not be refreshed from time to time. Therefore, according to popular belief, women are gifted with life skills. Startups provide a great work culture where colleagues become the second family.

Madhya Pradesh, has used its geographical location to its advantage and has been a leader in business and entrepreneurship. Also called the heart of India, the state of Madhya Pradesh has abundant skilled technical workforce which makes it ideal for setting up startups.

MP reportedly has 1,900 registered startups, out of which 800 are run by women entrepreneurs. Madhya Pradesh is a state with diverse opportunities across different sectors for women. With almost half of the state's population being female, the rise of women's entrepreneurship can be a game-changer in Madhya Pradesh's business ecosystem. Owing to the support of the central as well as the state government, the pace of startup activity has considerably increased in Madhya Pradesh.

It is reported that from mere 7 Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT) recognised startups in 2016, MP now has more than 1900 recognised startups in todays context. The top 5 sectors where startups are flourishing in the state include IT consulting, construction & engineering, agritech, food processing and business support services. The startup policy will boost entrepreneurship in the state by encouraging the women to come-up with innovative business ideas, help nurture entrepreneurial skills and promote employment opportunities.

As the PM put it in words, “The startups have a major role in developing the tourism sector and will also help in giving a boost to Vocal for Local”
