Startups in Kerala are developing solutions in newer and better ways thanks to a whole host of support systems and infrastructure created to nurture futuristic technologies. Being one of the first states in the country to formulate a Startup policy for the development of Technology Startups way back in 2014 - today, Kerala is a home to over 2200 startups which are developing innovative products and services leveraging on Industry 4.0 with 230 innovation and entrepreneurship development cells, over 35 incubators, more than five accelerators, and 11+ co-working spaces. A must to mention is the

constant effort of the government to support innovation at the grassroots level that has delivered exceptional results.

Kerala has always stood out as one of the most literate and skilled states in India. This has created an excellent opportunity for the growth of innovation, investment and entrepreneurship, which is being supported by KSUM's initiatives. Startups in the state are developing solutions in newer and better ways as they experiment with futuristic technologies like never before. Going beyond the conventional software and IT sectors, entrepreneurs from Kerala are being recognized in both national and international forums as they explore new horizons.

As per industry figures, 35 per cent of the startups are said to be focused on providing IT services, 11 per cent are working on health tech, and 9 percent are devising ed-tech solutions. In fact, the startup ecosystem at Kerala boasts an even spread of B2B and B2C startups, which comprises 28 percent and 24 percent of the total startups, respectively.
