"We at Techeco actively promote eco-friendly recycling and reuse of end-of-life electrical and Electronics Items. The discrepancy in the amount of e-waste produced and the amount of e-waste that is properly recycled reflects an urgent need for all stakeholders including the youth to address this issue. As our consumption of electronic goods increases, so will the amount of e-waste, more so given the pandemic and post-pandemic paradigm of working from home. The need of the hour is to make the conversion of `waste to wealth' easier while we endeavor to thoroughly understand the salient numbers of the country's e-Waste collection", explains Parikshit Deshmukh.
Techeco is accredited by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), R2 (Responsible Recycling) (Perry Johnson, USA), ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015, Member of Maharashtra Enviro Power Ltd. (Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility), and has a Hazardous Waste Management Certificate. Among the well-known companies that Techeco serves are TATA Motors Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Ashoka Buildcon Limited, Sanghavi College of Engineering, and Apollo Hospital Enterprise. The founders believe in working towards a sustainable future and creating much-needed awareness in society by means of conducting drives and arranging campaigns in a variety of areas like educational institutes, approaching companies and in BWG societies too.
Offering Recycling Services & Spreading Awareness
management procedures for processing e-Waste, assisting in environmental protection, improving the health and working conditions of laborers, and offering better employment prospects to over a million people,
"When we throw out our old gadgets, we are privileged enough to buy the latest devices. But, there are some people who are not as privileged and can't afford to buy new or second-hand gadgets. Old devices which have been thrown out are refurbished at our recycling plant and donated in camps conducted by Techeco or NGOs. The 'Zero Waste Living' motto takes center stage at Techeco. The `Reduce, Reuse & Recycle' approach to production and consumption, encourages a more circular approach to the way we use resources and is the first step towards Zero Waste living", adds Bhushan Kapase.

Techeco has delved into activities taken for creating awareness among rural and urban areas regarding waste disposal ways in addition to executing commercial practices in the e-Waste industry. They have advocated for the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) at events such as the Alternate Fuel Conclave Event 2022 in Pune, conducted awareness campaigns in SEZs and IT parks across India, and we take up multiple collection drives across west India and have taken up initiatives in association with the municipal corporations for awareness by painting murals at multiple locations in the city which explain the hazards and categories of ewaste. Accelerating the Circular Economy of Electronics in India: The Changing Role and Perception of the Recycling Industry was discussed by the founders Parikshit Deshmukh & Bhushan Kapase at the IFAT India 2022 event where they were invited as panelists. The Indian Achiever's Forum 2022 presented Techeco with the Indian Achiever's Award for Emerging Company.

Working towards a Sustainable Future
In emerging economies, the market for electronic and electrical equipment is both large and lucrative. Owning to such market availability, countries such as India and China today are also among the largest generators of e-Waste. "It is only natural to come up with a strategy to engage with informal sector workers. Since the rules are completely oblivious to the unorganized sector, streamlining the informal sector will not only go a long way toward better e-waste management practices but also aid in environmental protection, improve the health and working conditions of laborers and provide better work opportunities to over a million people. This will make management environmentally sustainable and easy to monitor", affirms by the directors of Techeco Waste Management.
The use of electronic items, and thus the production of e-Waste, will surely increase, at least over the next few decades, notwithstanding the uncertainty surrounding how future technology will develop. This is particularly true for fast-growing economies that have not yet been overrun by the plethora of e-Products that come along with prosperity. For producers, users, e-Waste collectors, recyclers, and policymakers, it means more opportunities as well as challenges in the global e-Waste arena.
