Blockchain firm Peer Plays Funds Edtech startup Avalonmeta

Si TeamAvalonMeta Ventures e-learning & gaming platform raised USD 420,000 in a financing round led by a blockchain based gaming company Peerplays.

The round involved participation of Purvi Capital, and Abhinav Chhikara, former design head of Unacademy. Preeplay a solution for provably fair blockchain-based gaming that allows users to design their specialized tokens or chips buy or sell gateway tokens for popular crypto currencies
like Bitcoin or Ether invested much into the company.

Founded by VarunMayya ShashankUdupa and AbhinavArora the company is a hybrid between an education and a gaming company. It touches on influencers on social media to educate its user's things it says are more effective such as private investment and design. Mayya, who is also the chief executive said that the firm is not looking to compete with edtech startups that are offering academic courses online.

AvalonMeta has gathered over 50 million impressions across various platforms since its soft launch in December 2018. The company might use the fund received to expand its service portfolio and make education more enjoyable.

In the larger edtech space the most heavily funded startup is Byju's which is part of the unicorn club of startups valued at USD1 billion or more.

Toppr, Unacademy and Vedantu are among other edtech startups that have also raised significant funding, reports VC Circle.
