Jupitice Justice Technologies, based in Chandigarh, has established the country's first private digital platform for conducting virtual arbitration, conciliation, mediation, and other ADR methods.
The company has established an online service marketplace for the dispute resolution industry, which provides a platform for finding arbitrators, mediators, and other justice service providers, as well as an end-to-end ADR mechanism that is totally online and requires no physical interaction.
Raman and Anju Aggarwal co-founded the company, which has an advisory board that includes Justice Ranjit Singh, a former judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and Justice SL Bhayana, a former judge of the Delhi High Court, among others.
“It is a new justice order where all parties involved are happy. Unlike a litigation process, justice through ADR mechanisms is quick, less stressful, cost-effective, and results in a mutual settlement maintaining a healthy business relation,” said Raman Aggarwal, Founder, and CEO of Jupitice.
According to the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), there are currently approximately 32.2 million pending cases across all courts. There are around 1.5 lakh cases in the Supreme Court and 4.8 million cases in 25 high courts.
Similarly, according to the latest data from the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), 4,008 cases have been recorded under the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) since its commencement, with 1,942 cases currently pending in various NCLTs.
Given these circumstances, many parties are likely to choose alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as a means of resolving their disputes.
