3D Automotive Visualization Startup 'Eccentric Engine' Secures $5 Million in Pre-Series A
Mumbai-based 3D automotive visualization startup, Eccentric Engine, has secured $5 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Exfinity Venture and Arkam Ventures, signaling a rise in funding activity in India. The company plans to use the capital to advance product development and expand internationally.
Eccentric’s Co-Founder, Varun Shah, shared that the funds will be directed towards three key areas. It enhances the 3D engine to support growth at the intersection of visualization and AI, focusing on a go-to-market strategy for North America, and forming partnerships with OEMs and Tier-I partners to build a 3D ecosystem.
Founded in 2012 by Shah and Gaurav Rane, Eccentric aimed to tackle the challenge in the automotive industry where there was a lack of interactive and immersive solutions for vehicle visualization. Shah explained that traditional 360-degree image rotations failed to offer the depth and interactivity needed to build trust among car buyers and influence purchase decisions.
To address these issues, Eccentric developed One3D, a real-time 3D rendering platform designed to provide superior online retail experiences for automotive OEMs and dealerships.
The firm serves clients in regions such as India, South Africa, Japan, Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Middle East, with customers including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota, Hyundai, and Stellantis.
Looking ahead, Shah stated that the company plans to target the U.S. and European markets by 2025, aiming for a global presence across six continents by 2026.
Eccentric's One3D platform has already powered over 200 million user experiences globally and is deployed in 3,500 dealer stores, the highest ever for a 3D visualization platform.
