
Anushka Sharma-Backed Slurrp Farm Raises $7.2Million in Latest Funding Round

Children-focused food brand Slurrp Farm, backed by Anushka Sharma, has secured a fresh investment of Rs 59.9 crore (approximately $7.2 million). This latest funding round, after a pause of nearly two years, saw contributions from both existing and new investors. Wholsum Food Private Limited, the parent company of Slurrp Farm, issued 3,13,691 Series C preference shares, raising the specified amount. As per documents obtained from the Registrar of Companies, existing investors Fireside Venture and Raed Capital invested Rs 12.4 crore and Rs 5.48 crore respectively. New investors Alkemi Ventures and Madhurima International contributed Rs 17.5 crore each. Furthermore, Sharrp Ventures, associated with the Harsh Mariwala family, joined in with an investment of Rs 7 crore.
As per the filing, the company's primary objective for the newly injected capital is to fortify its long-term financial base. Fireside Ventures now possesses a 20.72% stake in the company, while Madhurima International, Sharrp Ventures, and Alkemi Ventures hold 3.43%, 1.37%, and 3.43% respectively. According to TheKredible, a startup data intelligence platform , Slurrp Farm's estimated valuation post-allotment is approximately Rs 510 crore or $62 million. Notably, in February 2022, the brand secured $7 million in a Series B funding round led by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, marking Anushka Sharma's entry as both an investor and brand ambassador for Slurrp Farm.
Established in 2016 by Meghana Narayan and Shauravi Malik, Slurrp Farm specializes in millet-based snacks and meals specifically designed for young children, boasting a portfolio of more than 25 products. Despite achieving over 2X revenue growth to Rs 40 crore in FY23 from Rs 19.15 crore in FY22, the company also encountered a 1.7X increase in losses, reaching Rs 32.20 crore during the same period. With ambitious goals, the company aims to reach a revenue target of Rs 500 crore in the coming years and expand its market presence from 2,000 stores to 40,000 stores.
