Aqua Security Announces $135 Million in Series E Funding at $1 Billion Valuation

The pure-play cloud-native security firm, Aqua Security has raised $135 Million in Series E funding led by ION Crossover Partners. With the fundraise this San Francisco-based startup that also has an R&D center in Hyderabad has reached a valuation of $1 Billion, said a company statement. Aqua Security has so far raised a total of $265 million since its inception in 2015.

The Series E funding round included broad participation from Aqua’s existing investors, including M12 – Microsoft’s venture fund, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Insight Partners, TLV Partners, Greenspring Associates, and Acrew Capital. This new round of investment will enable the company to broaden and deepen its solution portfolio, as well as expand its presence geographically it said in a statement.

The Aqua Security Native Security Platform provides prevention, detection, and response automation across the entire application lifecycle to secure the build, secure cloud infrastructure, and secure running workloads wherever they are deployed. According to the company, its clientele includes some of the world’s leading organizations including five of the top ten banks in the world.

Aqua Security’s Hyderabad R&D center was established in 2019. The firm counts India as its strategic center and is looking to double its investment in the country in 2021. Aqua Security will also strengthen its strategic engagements with key India-based GSI's (Global System Integrator) including Tata Consultancy Services, HCL, Wipro, etc.
