AR solutions provider mirrAR raises Rs 13 crore from Diaspark, angels

MirrAR, an augmented reality (AR) platform catering to fashion brands, recently secured funding amounting to INR 13 crore in a funding round. This round was spearheaded by the US-based IT services company Diaspark and India Angel Network (IAN). Additionally, several angel investors, including Vineeta Singh and Kaushik Mukherjee, the co-founders of Sugar Cosmetics; Khadim Batti, the CEO and Co-Founder of Whatfix; Ashish Tulsian, Co-Founder & CEO of Posist; Umang Bedi, co-founder of Dailyhunt; Aparna Chennapragada, CVP at Microsoft; Dipak Gupta, MD at Kotak Mahindra Bank; Shanti Ekambaram, whole-time director at Kotak Mahindra Bank; and Alagu Periyannan, founder of BlueJeans by Verizon, also participated in the funding round.

The company intends to utilize the funding to expand its presence in the global fashion retail market, particularly with a strong emphasis on the beauty industry. Founded by Meghna Saraogi and Lalit Vijay, mirrAR.com, a part of Saraogi's initial entrepreneurial venture, StyleDotMe, offers AR technology solutions to fashion brands, enabling 3D and 360-degree shopping experiences on their websites. The company's beauty product is designed to empower customers to virtually test multiple shades of lipsticks, eyeliners, blushes, and more before making a purchase decision.

Meghna Saraogi, the CEO of the company, expressed her excitement about entering the beauty and wellness sectors while emphasizing the evolving expectations of customers for continuous brand innovation. She highlighted that their AR and AI technology is globally personalizing and offering pre-visualization makeup experiences to meet these changing customer needs. In the past, mirrAR has secured INR 10 crore in funding from investors including Rajan Anandan of PeakXV Partners and Ritesh Malik, the founder of Innov8, among others. With a current workforce of 30 employees, the company serves more than 50 clients, including Tanishq Jewellery, Forevermark, and Titan. Vineeta Singh, co-founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, who participated in the latest funding round, praised mirrAR for its transformative technology in the fashion and beauty retail sector, heralding it as a revolution in digital commerce through AR.
