Audio Entertainment-based Startup Pocket FM bags $103M from Lightspeed

Pocket FM, Audio entertainment platform has upraised $103 million in a series D Funding round directed by Lightspeed. Also the round saw participation from Stepstone Group.

This investment totals the funding of Pocket FM to $196.5 million. The venture fosters to utilize this investment to amplify its intense in the US & expand its presence in Latin America & European markets by this year.

Established in 2018 by Rohan Nayak, along with Nishant S & Prateek Dixit, Pocket FM provides unique & affordable podcasts & other types of content in diverse languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Bengali & many other regional languages. By growing at 57 percent QoQ, Pocket FM exceed $150 million ARR.

Speaking to this funding acquisition, Rohan Nayak, CEO & Co-Founder of Pocket FM says, "Our focus remains on tapping into unique and exclusive stories to solidify our leadership in this emerging category and create a strong IP playbook”.

Similarly, Harsha Kumar, Partner at Lightspeed states, "What sets Pocket FM apart is its vision to set up a sustainable and profitable business, backed by its unique pricing strategy”.

Pocket FM marked its footprints in US in Q4 of 2022, the revenue rate of the company in the market has exceeded $100 million ARR.

In February this year, Pocket FM launched Pocket Novel, an online reading platform connecting Indian writers and readers.

Previously, in the year 2022, the company has secured $65 million in a Series C funding round directed by Goodwater Capital, Naver, & existing investor Tanglin Venture Partners. In this current year, Pocket FM liftoff Pocket Novel- a digital reading platform interconnecting Indian writers & readers.
