Award-winning Health Startup 'Karma Primary Healthcare' bags Rs.11 crore in Series A
Impact-driven and digital healthcare startup Karma Primary Healthcare successfully secured Rs.11 crore (approximately $1.3 million) in Series A Funding round directed by UBS Optimus Foundation. The significant funding round also saw participation from 1Crowd and other financial backers.
Earlier the startup had lifted $1.69 million funding from Ankur Capital, Innospark, Grand Challenges Canada, Ennovent and others.
The inventive platform provides the remote consultation services with a doctor for diverse categories of diseases. The digital clinic employs a community health worker, the one who monitors and records the vital parameters and facilitate the video consultation between the patient & physician, generates e-prescription instructed by doctor and delivers cost-effective medicines.
The Hyderabad-based startup states that it permits the access of primary healthcare across 8 states in India via its aided telemedicine model, recorded a threefold surge in its users over the past three years, transforming more than 350,000 lives with 55 percent of them being women.
Karma Primary Healthcare intends to expand its footprints across 100 locations serving more than 150,000 patients per annum by the year 2027. The firm informs that it is changing from transaction-based care model to a patient focused, value based care models.
For the financial year ending in March 2023, the revenue of Karma Primary Healthcare’s declined by 7.5% to Rs.4.79 crore from Rs.5.18 crore in the financial year 2022. The startup’s losses surged to Rs.3.21 crore in the financial year 2023 from a profit rate of Rs.10.20 lakh in the preceding financial year.
In the market, the startup competes with players including DocOnline, Practo and others.
