About Citrus Freight
Started in 2016 by Biplob Barik and Ricky Goyal, Citrus Freight runs a mobile-first platform that helps Indian exporters book refrigerated containers, with end-to-end assistance covering customs clearance, surface transportation, and real-time temperature monitoring. The startup has made a good name for itself for managing temperature-sensitive products like fruits, vegetables, meat, marine products, and flowers, specifically serving small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the agri-export segment.
Citrus Freight claims its platform has drastically reduced booking times from 72 hours to just 10 minutes, minimized spoilage, and expanded client market reach by over 40%. The startup facilitates exports to regions including Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, offering exporters a digital dashboard with integrated features such as predictive analytics, compliance workflows, and remote temperature monitoring.
Our platform has played a critical role in streamlining export inefficiencies for Indian SMEs," the company declared, highlighting its mission to empower smaller players to compete on a global basis.
The fresh funding will help further build its technology stack, especially to boost analytics and the temperature monitoring system required for carrying perishable items. Citrus Freight plans to transport 1,500 containers and achieve Rs 45 crore in revenue in the next 12 to 24 months.
