  • Funding will accelerate R&D, expand the team, and support prototype development.

Hyderabad's space tech startup Cosmoserve Space has raised $3.17 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Alan Rutledge with participation from AUM Ventures, Shakti VC, and Google’s early backer Ram Shriram.

The fresh capital will help the company speed up research, grow its engineering team, and start building prototypes for its space debris mitigation technology.

Founded by Dr. Chiranjeevi Phanindra, a former ISRO scientist and Deputy Project Director of India’s Gaganyaan mission, Cosmoserve Space is working on autonomous robotic spacecraft designed to clear orbital debris. With satellites, space stations, and future missions facing increasing risks, the startup aims to create a more sustainable orbital ecosystem.

Dr. Phanindra, Founder and CEO of Cosmoserve Space, said "Our mission is to make space safer and sustainable". He added "This funding allows us to fast-track development and form global partnerships to tackle debris challenges at scale".
