D2C Beauty & Skincare Brand WOW Skin Science raises $50 Million from ChrysCapital

Beauty brand WOW Skin Science has raised $50 million from India focused private equity firm, ChrysCapital for a significant minority stake. The deal is a primary raise for growth strategies which is combined with the secondary sale by current shareholders.

Founded by brothers Manish and Karan Chowdary in 2014, WOW Skin Science is a new-age beauty and personal care D2C brand. The brand is known for its nature-inspired personal care, dermatologically tested skin and hair care products. WOW Skin products are largely free from chemicals such as sulphates, silicones, mineral oils, parabeans, and artificial colour.

WOW Skin’s new backer, ChrysCapital is a renowned PE firm with a proven record of joining businesses and entrepreneurs to build sizable growth opportunities. The firm has now partnered with WOW Skin to leverage mutual growth and collaborations. The collaboration aspires to build WOW Skin Science into one of India's and global leading FMCG companies and provide innovative products in the personal care segment.

The company aims to keep its momentum going by leveraging its loyal customer base, extending its reach across platforms, and expanding its range of brands and products.
