Deeptech Startup 'Astrome Technologies' nets $10 million from Appollo Fund
E-band long-distance communication solutions provider, Astrome Technologies, has raised $10 million in funding, led by Appollo Fund and including additional investments from IAN Group.
According to a press release from the company, the money will be used to further Astrome's cutting-edge wireless connectivity technologies as well as scale operations, add new product lines, and enter the satellite communication market.
In September 2021, the deep tech startup had previously raised $3.4 million in a bridge round.
"To drive innovation and create solutions that enhance connectivity on a global scale, this foray into the satcom market represents the timely realization of the vision with which this company was founded," stated Neha Satak, CEO of Astrome.
To enable 5G and 6G connectivity, Astrome's GigaMesh integrates with optical fiber systems. Its capabilities, which include point-to-multipoint connectivity and auto link alignment, guarantee quicker deployment, reduced expenses, and improved network performance.
Astrome has partnered with international OEMs to bring its ground-breaking GigaMesh product to the global market in the near future. GigaMesh seeks to address the expensive, mechanically aligned antennas that limit current E-band technology.
Through a partnership with the government, the company has increased rural connectivity in India by providing broadband to isolated villages. Major clients like the Indian Army, Navy, and BSNL trust its state-of-the-art technologies.
Astrome reported revenue of Rs. 8.29 crore for the fiscal year that ended in March 2024, up from Rs. 2.71 crore in the prior fiscal year. Its losses during that time dropped from Rs. 4.93 crore to Rs. 1.73 crore.
