Defense Startup 'GalaxEye Space' nets $6.5 million in new Funding round

GalaxEye Space, Spacetech startup has lifted $6.5 million in a new round directed by Mela Ventures and Speciale Invest. Also, the funding round registered a participation from ideaForge with added investments from Anicut Capital, Faad Capital, Navam Capital and Rainmatter.

According to the press release disclosed by the company, the raised funds will be utilized to launch first satellite of GalaxEye, the “Drishti Mission,” and further develop their multi-sensor payload technology.

Established in the year 2020 by Suyash Singh, Pranit Mehta, Denil Chawda, Kishan Thakkar and Rakshit Bhatt, the firm specifies in providing accurate datasets from space and aerial platforms against their cutting-edge multi-sensor payload.

This significant technology assimilates Optical MSI and SAR sensors to offer intuitive data, vital for industries like defence, agriculture, surveillance, insurance and aquaculture.

The startup privileges to that it has also developed the First UAV SAR system in India for defense markets and finished more than 300 successful flights with UAV SAR Payload.

Speaking to this, the Co-Founder & CEO Suyash Singh says, “We aim to ensure that, regardless of weather conditions or time of day, if we pass over your location, you will receive an image. Our goal is to provide seamless Earth monitoring, despite all odds.”

Similarly, Vishesh Rajaram, Managing Partner of Speciale Invest states, “GalaxEye Space stands at the forefront of innovation with their unique approach to combining MSI and SAR technology. This capability has the potential to revolutionize how data is gathered and interpreted from space, offering unprecedented insights and real-time applications across various industries”.

“Once we provide imagery combining MSI and SAR through Drishti, we believe we will be closer to that GPS moment in the satellite imagery space”, he added.
