Edtech Startup Practically Raises $4 Million to Power Pan India Expansion

Edtech startup 3rdFlix Visual Effects, the parent company of online learning platform Practically has raised $4 million in pre-series B funding round. The Hyderabad based startup raised the capital from Siana Capital, a deep tech investor, with participation from existing investors YourNest Venture Capital and Exfinity Ventures. Founded in 2014, the firm has so far raised a total of $9 million with the last funding last round in 2019 where it raised $5 million.

A company statement mentioned that the fresh capital will be used to expand Practically’s presence across Telangana & Andhra Pradesh while also powering a pan India growth spurt.

Speaking about the investment, Subbarao Siddabattula, CEO & Founder, Practically said, “The recent round of funding will be utilised to expand the market for Practically beyond Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Our expansion plan includes establishing a footprint pan-India in the next 12 months. We are also aiming to expand operations in the Middle East and set foot into the US market in the near future.”

3rdFlix is one of the few expertial learning applications in the market that aim to change the way children learn through the use of immersive videos, interactive augmented reality and 3D simulations. Its product Practically was launched in May last year.

It is an intelligent, interactive and immersive learning app for students between 6-12 grade, with a focus on STEM learning. The application covers universal curriculum across math and science. According to the company over 130 schools across India have been using Practically to enable online classes during the pandemic.
