Edtech Startup Yellow Class Raises $1.3 million in Pre Series A Funding

Team StartupcityGurugram based Ivypods Technology Pvt Ltd, which operates hobby-focussed education-technology startup Yellow Class has raised $1.3 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by early-stage investor India Quotient that counts startups such as Lendingkart, Cityflo, ShareChat, and Fleetx in its portfolio.

The round also saw participation from Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl & Rohit Bansal, Indifi founder Alok Mittal, Oyo executives Maninder Gulati & Abhinav Sinha, Bounce co-
founder Vivekananda Hallekere and Xiaomi’s Alvin Tse. Additional investment came in from PropTiger’s Dhruv Agarwala, Knowlarity’s Pallav Pandey and angel investors Harpreet Singh Grover and Vibhore Goyal.

Founded in 2020 by Arpit Mittal and Anshul Gupta, Yellow Class is an online platform that provides courses related to various extracurricular activities such as dancing, cooking, handwriting, ballet, yoga, and more. Focused on young children the platform works on a subscription-based revenue model.

Yellows Class currently features a user base spread across 52 countries with significant numbers coming from India and Middle East. “Yellow Class witnessed quick success and has grown a huge community of parents both nationally as well as internationally. The growth of the platform is organic with mothers referring to other mothers,” said Gagan Goyal, Partner, India Quotient.

In a statement the company said that it intends to utilize the fresh capital to expand its offering and product development. “We aim to reach a community of 2 million members by 2021 and this funding round will help us inch towards our goal,” said Arpit Mittal, Co-Founder, Yellow Class.
