Inflection Point Ventures led a Rs 3 crore seed fundraising round for Courseplay, an employee growth enablement platform.

The funds will be used to expand across India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, as well as to acquire new customers and create new AI-driven capabilities.

Courseplay, founded in 2016 by Arjun Gupta, collects data and provides growth recommendations to businesses and their teams via its web application, chatbot, and mobile apps. By 2020, the startup will have engaged around 400,000 people and provided them with over 100,000 activities. Amazon, SpiceJet, Emami, Swiggy, and other companies are among the clients of the Mumbai-based startup.

“We’re ready to capitalise on the wave of digital transformation and accelerate our expansion plans across emerging markets like India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East,” Gupta said.

Globally, the market for corporate learning and talent development is worth $450 billion. In the enterprise SaaS sector, employee experience is one of the fastest expanding categories. Given the recent push for digital transformation by organisations in the region, Coursera predicts that the market will grow at a rate of 20-25 percent annually for the next three years.

“Upskilling employees and improving workforce performance through regular staff training programmes has always been a must for companies across sectors.

However, training employees offline is an expensive affair,” says Vinay Bansal, founder and chief executive of Inflection Point Ventures. “Courseplay provides the most cost-effective and scalable online learning technology solution. This online training programme has been the need of an hour especially with the world going digital due to Covid-19.”
