IIT Kanpur incubated drone startup EndureAir Systems has secured Rs 25 crore in funding from IAN Alpha Fund, along with support from IAN Angel Fund. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen its aerial robotics platforms and expand into enterprise level logistics and surveillance markets.

Founded in 2018 by aerospace engineering professor Abhishek and his former students Rama Krishna and Chirag Jain, EndureAir designs and manufactures both drone hardware and software completely in house. The company has already secured nine patents in vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) technology.

EndureAir is currently developing high altitude logistics drones in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and running pilot missions in partnership with Bhutan’s Druk Holding & Investments (DHI). These missions are aimed at improving connectivity to remote locations such as hilltop monasteries.

The startup's Sabal drone, capable of carrying up to 20 kg payloads, has been adopted by the Indian Army’s Eastern Command. Another product, the Vibhram UAV, was part of Telangana’s ‘Medicine from the Sky’ initiative, helping deliver vaccines to remote areas.

EndureAir operates in a fast growing ecosystem and competes with players like ideaForge, IG Drones, Paras, Asteria Aerospace, and others. The recent funding also highlights rising investor interest in India’s drone sector, especially following government efforts such as the PLI scheme and potential Rs 2,000 Cr incentive programme for drone manufacturing.

The Indian drone market is expected to hit $13 billion by 2030, driving significant venture capital investments into deeptech startups like EndureAir.
