Flexprice, an open-source billing and metering platform designed for AI-first and agentic businesses, has closed a $500,000 pre-seed investment led by early-stage venture capital firm TDV Partners.

The round further featured investments from well-known operators and angel investors such as Brij Bhushan (Co-founder, magicpin), Gunjan Patidar, Ram Singla, and Pradyot Ghate (all from Zomato), Sandeep Gupta (Co-founder, Innovaccer), Akash Singh (former Co-founder, Observe.AI), and Harshit Dwivedi (Founder, Aftershoot).

Using this new capital, Flexprice aims to grow its engineering staff, speed up integrations with top-tier payment gateways, and enhance its open-source capabilities as it further develops a next-generation billing infrastructure for the rapidly changing AI and API-first environment.

Rethinking Billing for the AI Era

As generative AI continues to upend classical SaaS paradigms, more than two-thirds of SaaS businesses are incorporating AI capabilities profoundly boosting infrastructure expenses while redefining customers' perceptions of value. To counter this, most are shifting away from inflexible seat-based subscriptions to usage-based or blended pricing structures that more accurately mirror real product use.

But most current billing platforms were designed for static, predictable SaaS worlds and don't cut it when it comes to handling metered, dynamic pricing or developer-driven workflows. For modern AI-native startups, this introduces a show-stopping bottleneck.
