Food-tech Startup HungerBox Raises Funding Worth $12mn

Team Startup CityThe food tech startup, HungerBox has secured a fresh round of funding worth $12 million from a bunch of new investors and some of the existing investors, including international investors as well. Assisting large IT hubs in setting up and running cafeterias, HungerBox is now expanding to several sectors including aviation, healthcare, manufacturing, education and retail.

At present, there are 535 cafes being operated by HungerBox who are currently servicing around 0.56 million orders. The startup is aiming to reach the mark of 1 million orders per day before the end of financial year 2020.


Some of the investing partners of the startup includes Paytm, Sabre Partners, Neoplux and NPTK Emerging Asia Fund; with Paytm and NPTK being the new investors. Last year, the company raised USD 4.5 million led by Sabre.

With the freshly infused capital, the company is set to expand its geographical presence by adding 10 more new cities while taking the business overseas as well. Exceeding a sales of USD 100 million, the food tech startup currently operates in various cities including Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Goa, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram with over 1,500 staff across the country.
