Copenhagen-based GetWhy, a leading consumer research technology firm, has disclosed that it has secured another $20M (around €17M) in funding. The round was led by current investor PeakSpan Capital, with ongoing involvement from Arbejdernes Landsbank, taking GetWhy's Series A funding into one of the largest to date in Denmark.
PeakSpan Capital is a San Mateo and New York City-based growth equity firm. It has collaborated with more than 40 high-growth software companies and manages $1.5B+.
The company integrates deep domain knowledge across a limited set of themes with a proprietary technology platform offering insight into company and market performance, to enable disruptive founders to create resilient, risk-adjusted value.
We envision enormous opportunity for AI-based consumer insights in the market, and we think it will radically change how global B2C and B2B brands do business. GetWhy is pioneering this change with their state-of-the-art tech and a strong history of driving results for customers ranging from small businesses to large enterprises," says Phil Dur, co-founder and Managing Partner at PeakSpan Capital.
PeakSpan Capital is honored to be GetWhy's investor and was inspired to increase our investment to allow this world-class team to continue to create value for top brands globally", Dur adds.
As part of its expansion strategy, the Danish firm will establish a U.S. office in 2025 to further anchor its presence in the world's largest consumer market.
“It’s crucial for GetWhy to establish a presence in the U.S., and I’m very pleased that we’re now able to open an office there. Some 60 per cent of our revenue comes from the U.S., so this is a natural and necessary step for us to get closer to our current and potential American customers and solidify our position as a market leader driving the industry forward,” says Casper Henningsen, co-founder and CEO of GetWhy.
The fresh investment assists GetWhy in further securing its dominant market position and raises its Series A funding to one of the largest in Denmark.
"This new investment from PeakSpan Capital reaffirms how quickly the space for consumer research is moving and provides GetWhy with the fuel to speed up our mission and solidify our leadership status worldwide. We have a transparent approach to capturing enterprise market share and driving AI-powered change for an infinite universe of global brands", Henningsen continues.
Established in 2011 and came online with its AI platform in 2022, GetWhy is a consumer research technology firm with global reach.
"Traditional market research is broken. It's slow, it's costly, and, most importantly, it's disconnected from the way modern businesses create products and connect with customers. This disconnect provides us with a very special chance to remake the entire insights industry," states Casper Henningsen, co-founder and CEO at GetWhy.
With the aid of generative AI, the business assists businesses with conducting market research and making sense out of video-based interviews.
In recent years, the business has grown exponentially and now collaborates with a number of international business-to-consumer businesses. Among its clients are Heineken, Nestlé, The Coca-Cola Company, Adidas, MARS, eBay and Unilever.
We have invested the last ten years leading the charge of how Agentic AI and human empathy will create the future of how businesses can sense and know their customers once more. AI is not about replacing jobs, but about eliminating constraints, and that allows our customers to do business at unprecedented velocity. "They’re producing video interviews faster than surveys, running multiple studies simultaneously across markets, and putting real customer voices at the centre of every decision. This isn’t just incremental change it’s the transformation of an entire industry. And we’re just getting started”, says Casper Henningsen, co-founder and CEO of GetWhy.
