Godrej Consumer to invest 100 crore in consumer startup fund
Early Spring, a new Rs 300 crore early-stage consumer fund being established by Spring Marketing Capital, would receive an investment of Rs 100 crore from Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), according to GCPL (Spring). According to GCPL, in addition to lending its skills and experience to help entrepreneurs create strong, long-lasting businesses, it will serve as the fund's anchor.
Spring's initial investment of Rs 150 crore is still making Series A and further investments in startups. From the seed to pre-series A stage, the Early Spring Fund will invest Rs 5-Rs 20 crore in each startup.
Omar Momin, Head of M&A at GCPL, stated, "We intend to utilise our experience of the consumer industry and lessons learned over the last decades to help early-stage companies focused on creating strong offline as well as online presence by offering differentiated products in India."
Raja Ganapathy, Arun Iyer, and Vineet Gupta, who collectively have decades of experience in investing and brand development, lead Spring. GCPL will provide knowledge and experience to help creators create enduring businesses.
In terms of brand creation, manufacturing, product development, distribution, and potential capital raises, Momin continued, "I would encourage new-age enterprises to engage with and exploit Spring's expertise and experience."
