Healthtech startup Sunfox Technologies bags $1.78 million in a pre-Series A Funding round

Sunfox Technologies, a healthtech startup featured on ‘Shark Tank India’, has secured Rs.15 crore which is equivalent to $1.78 million in a pre-Series A funding round.

Venture Catalysts led the round, which saw participation from Finvolve via the IA Growth Opportunities Fund I, Brew Opportunities Fund, Universal Group and RP Singhvi Group.

Before this round, the startup based in Dehradun had secured funding of Rs.5 crore from SAMRIDH Health and LetsVenture through USAID. The recent investment takes its total funds raised to Rs.20 crore.

Sunfox Technologies was founded in 2016 by Rajat Jain, Arpit Jain, Saurabh Badola, Nitin Chandola, and Sabit Rawat, is a research and development lab focused on creating advanced healthcare technologies for the digital era.

The startup’s flagship product, Spandan, is a smartphone-compatible portable ECG device that delivers clinically accurate 12-lead ECG readings. This device enables users to detect heart attacks and monitor cardiac health in real-time.

Sunfox reports that Spandan is currently used by over 30,000 people in 20 countries and has reportedly saved more than 10,000 lives through early detection of heart conditions.

The aim of Sunfox Technologies is to utilize the recently acquired funds in order to broaden its scope and improve Spandan, their flagship offering.

CEO of the company Rajat Jain stated, "Our ability to expand quickly, both domestically and abroad, will be increased by this infusion of capital."

Our growth will be accelerated and Spandan will reach households and clinics globally. Our vision is to make heart attacks as preventable as fevers, with Spandan becoming an essential household tool like a thermometer.

The startup received funding of Rs.1 crore from judges on Shark Tank India, particularly Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal,Vineeta Singh and Ghazal Alagh
