EVage, an Indian all-electric commercial OEM, has secured $28 million from RedBlue Capital, a venture capital firm located in the United States.

Evage in India, founded in 2014, supplies EV vehicles to large delivery fleets such as Amazon India's Delivery Service Partner.

The start-up said, “the seed-round funding will help the mobility tech startup complete its production-ready factory outside of Delhi in FY2022-23 and scale up production.”

EVage's Founder and CEO, Inderveer Singh, stated, "when we pioneered our highly adaptive and modular multi-vehicle platform in 2014, it was a journey into the unknown. The success of new global OEMs and their impact on electrifying transport in the US and Europe is a testament to what we can do in India and other price sensitive countries.”

EVage has created a platform for industry-ready electric cars that outperform comparable choices in India and other emerging countries at a cheaper cost, allowing consumers to save money on their total cost of ownership (TCO).

EVage plans to build cars in 'Modular Micro Manufacturing' plants with smaller footprints and lower capital needs than traditional automakers.

The Model.X, EVage's first vehicle, is a one-tonne truck aimed at the commercial delivery vehicle industry, which is undergoing a massive transition to electrification.

Prescott Watson, a general partner at RedBlue Capital, said, "the fact that such an innovative product is being used today by major fleet customers makes EVage a clear standout in their field - this is the team that's actually delivering.”

According to Singh, they are actively hiring from India's and the world's leading automotive and aerospace firms.
