Team StartupcityGroww, an app that aims to simplify investment for Indian millennials announced on Thursday that it raised $30 Million in Series C funding. Led by Y Combinator’s growth stage investment fund, YC Continuity, this round of funding brought the company’s total funds raised so far to $59 million. Other participants in the current round of funding were existing investors Sequoia India, Ribbit Capital and Propel Ventures.
"We started our journey with small steps - writing blogs and making videos to educate people about investing. Our wealth as a nation will keep growing, and our mission is to provide the best experience for investors to manage their wealth. We are happy to partner with investors who believe in our long-term vision. YC played a key role in our early years and now this investment will help us accelerate towards our goals,” said Lalit Keshre, Founder & CEO, Groww.

Committed to making investing easy, transparent and fast, Groww has so far amassed over 80 lakh users. The easy to use mobile application allows users to invest in all Mutual Funds, Stocks and Exchange Trade Funds, available in India. The company has launched a new offering ‘New Fund Offering’, a subscription offering that allows users to invest in any new fund being launched by an investment company. Taking its offerings international, Groww has recently added a feature that enables its user to invest in the US stock market.

The company is positive about the potential that lies within the nation’s large population that has still not opened up to investing in mutual funds. Attracting a majority of its users from smaller cities and towns, Groww also conducts workshops across small cities to educate people about the investment and wealth management.
