Hyderabad-based Megaliter Varunaa, a subsidiary of NSE-listed Banka BioLoo Limited and mentored by Brigade REAP, has raised Rs 15 crore in seed funding from long-term institutional investors. The capital will accelerate project development, business growth, and technology innovation in urban water management.

Megaliter Varunaa transforms sewage treatment plants into productive, circular water utilities through its subscription-based ‘Megaliter Model’. The zero-CapEx approach ensures efficient wastewater reuse for non-potable applications such as flushing, gardening, and chiller systems. By offering end-to-end service contracts, the company handles financial, operational, and compliance requirements, helping cities reduce dependence on freshwater while generating value from wastewater.

Vishal Murarka, Managing Director of Megaliter Varunaa, said, “This seed funding is a key milestone in our mission to deliver sustainable water solutions across India. We have already treated over 3 billion liters of wastewater and currently manage 2.5 billion liters annually. In the next 12 months, we plan to scale projects to recycle more than 10 billion liters annually, strengthening urban water resilience”.

With this new capital, Megaliter Varunaa is targeting expansion into major cities including Mumbai and Bengaluru, reinforcing its vision of a circular, sustainable water future for India’s urban centers.
