Oben Electric the new infusion just months after a January 2025 Rs 50 crore raise had the involvement of current investors and new ones such as Helios Holdings, the Sharda Family Office, and the Kay Family. The money will be utilized to build the retail footprint of Oben, scale up production, and expand its product line to aim for mass-market, affordable electric motorcycles.
This extended Series A is a powerful vote of confidence from our investors at a moment when our countrywide momentum is gaining pace," said Madhumita Agrawal, Oben Electric's Founder and CEO. "We are not merely expanding our retail presence but doubling down on innovation through offerings like the O100, which seek to democratize electric motorcycles for Indian riders.
After the first Series A round, Oben has quickly grown, opening 37 retail stores in 26 cities in 13 states of Gujarat, Punjab, Telangana, and Odisha. With this new capital, the firm will expand its network to more than 150 showrooms in 50 cities by FY2026, increase after-sales services, and increase production at its Bengaluru plant.
A mainstay of Oben's roadmap is the O100 line of electric motorcycles, a soon-to-be-launched series of vehicles priced under Rs 1 lakh. It aims at price-sensitive buyers seeking a mix of affordability, performance, and dependability. Oben's vertically integrated business model producing key EV components such as LFP batteries, motors, and control units internally has been important in keeping costs under control while maintaining quality.
"Oben Electric has the technology, market fit, and execution right," said Sandesh from the Sharda Family Office. "Their indigenous manufacturing of key EV components along with the founders' clarity and maturity puts them in a position to create India's first truly global electric motorcycle brand."
Oben currently has the Rorr and its entry-level variant Rorr EZ for urban commuters. The Rorr EZ begins at Rs 99,999 for the 2.6 kWh base trim with a range of 110 km IDC. The middle 3.4 kWh variant has a 140 km range for Rs 1,19,999, and the top model 4.4 kWh achieves 175 km for Rs 1,29,999. All versions come with the same top speed of 95 km/h and achieve 0–40 km/h in 3.3 seconds.
Down the line, Oben Electric is also planning for a Series B round of $30 million, scheduled later this year in 2025. This capital will be used to fund global outreach and more R&D as the startup continues to work its way toward its goal of being a global two-wheeler EV leader "Designed in India for the World."
