Omspace Secures $3M to Launch India's Own Small Satellite Rocket

Omspace Rocket & Exploration Pvt Ltd, a spacetech startup from Ahmedabad, has raised $3 million in a Family Office and an angel-backed pre-seed funding round.

 The startup was incubated at CrAdLE (Centre for Advancing & Launching Enterprises), the Technology Business Incubator of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), and is working on Infinity One, an indigenously developed small satellite launch vehicle that can carry 350 kg payloads to heights of up to 800 km.

Started in 2020 by Dr Ravindra Raj Binod Mistri, Maulik Mota, and Stutika Padamshali, Omspace is based out of Ahmedabad with an expanding global footprint in Dubai, UAE. Omspace specializes in cost-effective, fuel-optimal, and robust launch solutions designed to meet the requirements of India's burgeoning spacetech economy.

The new funds raised will be utilized in completing and commencing test launches of the Infinity One prototype, recruiting specialized personnel, scaling up the R&D team, and increasing manufacturing infrastructure and ground systems.

CrAdLE has incubated more than 135 startups till date, promoting entrepreneurship in manufacturing, food processing, renewable energy, and healthcare.
