Multiplier, a Professional Employment Organization (PEO) platform that streamlines international hiring, has raised $4 million in funding led by Sequoia Capital India's Surge, with participation from Golden Gate Ventures, MS&AD Ventures, Picus Capital, and angel investors.

The Singapore-based startup is developing technology that makes it easier than ever for businesses to access global talent while also lowering compliance costs for cross-border employment.

Multiplier is APAC's first global talent enablement platform, allowing businesses to hire anyone, anywhere in just a few clicks by utilising a global compliance, payroll, and payments platform.

“International hiring is broken, and existing solutions are expensive, opaque, and slow. We believe that talent is everywhere, and our vision is to enable companies to hire the best person for the job, regardless of their location.

We have grown exponentially since the launch, which is testament to the demand from companies — both large and small — for a simplified, international employment solution,” says, Multiplier Co-founder and CEO Sagar Khatri.

“With this round of funding, we’re looking to double down on our presence in the region and bring more features to our customers via the Multiplier Platform,” Sagar added.

Multiplier, which was founded in Singapore in 2020, is a new-age PEO Platform that provides integrated solutions that enable companies to hire talent from anywhere in the world efficiently and with all compliance taken care of. As businesses shift to borderless and remote teams in the aftermath of COVID-19, Multiplier claims to be making cross-border employment easier and less expensive.

Companies can use Multiplier to quickly and easily expand their team internationally. In addition to streamlining the hiring process, Multiplier offers an automated HR workflow, compliance, payroll, and payments solutions all rolled into one integrated platform, as well as legal employment infrastructure in over 100 countries.

Amritpal Singh, Sagar Khatri, and Vamsi Krishna founded Multiplier. Amritpal attended the London School of Economics (LSE), while Vamsi and Sagar attended the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). Vamsi joined Funding Societies early on, and Sagar was most recently the VP of Corporate Development at Hmlet.

Surge's fifth cohort of 23 companies has developed new digital solutions to help businesses and individuals work, live, and learn better in a rapidly changing Southeast Asian landscape.
