Peppermint, a autonomous robotics startup, has raised Rs 34 crore (approximately $4 million) in a Series A round of funding led by JDSS, Enrission India Capital, Indian Angel Network (IAN), Vinners, and a bunch of angel investors.

This new funding takes the startup's total capital to Rs 49 crore ($5.6 million) and represents an important milestone in its mission to go global, especially after entering the U.S. market in 2024. Peppermint was founded in 2019 at SINE, IIT Bombay. It focuses on creating autonomous robotic systems for industrial and commercial use, such as floor-cleaning robots, material-handling systems, and critical accessories like docking stations.

Its systems are fueled by its own proprietary Peppermint OS and integrated electronics architecture called Skateboard, designed to solve staff shortages, improve operational efficiency, and advance sustainability through energy-efficient operation. The company also offers cloud-connected platforms and mobile apps, supplying real-time insights from data and making it easy to deploy and manage their solutions.

Peppermint will use the funds raised to expand to Europe, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region, develop its operating system to run both its internal platforms and third-party OEMs, hire talent, and improve its production and supply chain infrastructure. The company is also preparing to launch new products, including a restroom-cleaning robot that is projected to be launched in 2025–2026.

"Our autonomous solutions are well-placed to solve the challenges of global labour and sustainability today," said Runal Dahiwade, Peppermint's Founder and CEO. "This financing round allows us to sharpen our global strategy, drive our technologies forward, and further establish ourselves as a leading automation partner to industries globally."
Peppermint's product solutions address critical industries like manufacturing, healthcare, commercial real estate, and logistics, where manpower shortages and sanitation standards are chronic issues. The startup has an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of Rs 18 crore ($2.2 million) and has more than 180 active enterprise customers across six countries.
