Planys Technologies, a leading deep-tech company specializing in underwater robotics and advanced inspection systems, has raised Rs 100 crore in fresh primary funding. The round was led by prominent investors Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi, with continued support from existing investors such as Pratithi Investment, Samarthya Investment Advisors, 3i Partners, Letsventure, and several angel investors. The round also enabled early backers to exit, reflecting strong value creation.
The new capital will fuel Planys’ dual growth plan expanding its global industrial inspection business and accelerating its defense portfolio through its new arm, Planys Ark. Tanuj Jhunjhunwala, CEO and Co-founder of Planys Technologies, said, the investment strengthens the company’s ability to serve major global clients while building advanced unmanned underwater systems in India.
Planys is developing next-generation underwater robotic platforms, including hybrid ROVs, robotic crawlers, and an AI-powered 3D Inspection Twin. One of its upcoming systems, the explosion-proof ROV TankRover, is designed for in-service inspections of hydrocarbon storage tanks to enhance safety and reduce downtime. Planys remains the only company in the world capable of underwater concrete testing using submersible robotics.
Vineet Upadhyay, Co-Founder and CTO of Planys Technologies, said Planys Ark will advance indigenous defense-grade underwater solutions, including UUVs and micro AUVs for specialized missions. The company plans to build a dedicated UUV production facility in South Chennai.
