Recruitment Automation Platform Kula Raises $2.7 million led By Venture Highway & Others

Kula, a recruitment automation platform, raised $2.7 million in funding from Venture Highway, Together Fund, and Global Founders Capital.
Kula is a talent acquisition tool that unifies all sources of talent and automates applicant outreach and interaction. With this infusion of cash, the company's primary goal will be to get its product out there and into the hands of customers.
"The next milestone for us is to achieve around 50 customers by the end of 2021," Achuthanand Tanjore Ravi, cofounder and CEO of Kula told ET. "We are continuing to invest in other product offerings. Currently, we only support two modules - Outreach and Circles. But in the future, we are also looking to solve problems around scheduling and the likes to create the flywheel of reducing the turnaround time in the process with regard to recruiting."
He went on to say that while the company will serve to global markets, India will remain a priority. In India, Kula already has 30 to 35 pilot users.
"India is an extremely important market for us," Achuthanand stated. "Given the penetration of startups in India and because India is considered to be an engineering powerhouse, I see a very huge uptick in terms of organizations getting started out, new ideas and new products coming out. But for them to execute, talent is crucial. And we are trying to solve problems around talent management...."
When applicants engage with organisations, one of the biggest trends today, according to Achuthanand, is that they have many offers in hand. As a result, companies are having difficulty locating or approaching prospects. This is where Kula comes in, focusing on enticing talent and resolving issues related to outbound recruiting.
Freshworks founder Girish Mathrubootham and Eka Software founder Manav Garg formed Together Fund, a software-as-a-service (SaaS)-focused early-stage investment firm. Shubham Gupta, a founding member of SaaSBoomi and former iSpirt and Nasscom fellow, and Avinash Raghava, a founding member of SaaSBoomi and former iSpirt and Nasscom fellow, are also among its founders.
"The talent market is at its competitive best right now. Hiring great talent is not just how you grow, but exist. The founding team of Kula has just the ingredients to solve the recruitment puzzle for companies at all stages of growth. Together Fund is excited to back them, and help them scale." said Mathrubootham.
Despite the tools/solutions, the hiring process remains tedious, according to Priya Mohan, Partner at Venture Highway. Kula's founding team, she noted, has a lot of experience.
