- Founded in 2023, specializes in advanced electronic systems.
- Developing CUAS and EW technologies for Indian defense.
Sanlayan Technologies, a Bengaluru-based defense and aerospace startup, has raised a $22.4 million (1.86 billion rupees) Series A round. The funding will be utilized to expedite the development of cutting-edge electronic warfare (EW) and counter-unmanned aerial systems (CUAS) technologies for the enhancement of India's defense infrastructure.
The funding round was led by prominent investors Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, and Jungle Ventures, with participation from Gemba Capital, Singularity Ventures, and Shastra VC.
Founded in September 2023, Sanlayan Technologies specializes in advanced electronic systems, including radar, electronic warfare solutions, and mission-critical avionics. The company's focus on CUAS and EW technologies addresses the growing need for robust defense capabilities against evolving threats.
"This funding will enable us to accelerate the development of cutting-edge CUAS and EW technologies, contributing to India's self-reliance in defense manufacturing," said a Sanlayan Technologies spokesperson. "We are committed to providing innovative solutions that protect our nation's critical assets and enhance our strategic advantage."
CUAS is more about the detection and neutralization of hostile UAVs whereas EW involves the operations on the electromagnetic spectrum such as jamming and interception. Sanlayan's advancements in both these areas will significantly enhance the defense capabilities of India and reduce its dependence on foreign suppliers.
