ShopKirana bags USD 10M in Series B Funding Round

Monica Pallavi JFollowing the fund raise of INR 14crore in Series A round, led by InfoEdge, The Indore- based B2B ecommerce platform Shopkirana has raised INR 71crore ($10M) in Series B round.

Shopkirana which focuses on innovations in supply chain is one of the early players to connect retailers and brands using mobile app. However, this generates better sales and helps to keep track of inventory data on mobile phones. The company claims to have received funds in good numbers previously and now a cluster of investors including InfoEdge have held hands for it’s growth.


“We are building the biggest and the quickest go-to-market channel for FMCG brands to reach to rising middle class Indian consumers via kirana stores. ShopKirana platform has the ability to place an international brand in local kirana stores and has the power to take a local brand to India scale,” asserts Sumit Ghorawat, Co-Founder, ShopKirana

The startup intends to use the raised fund primarily to expand operations across tier2 and tier 3 cities in India. Currently, it has more than 12,000 retailers on its platform and it aspires to connect 9M retailers by removing mediators. Shopkirana’s stores across 30 cities have enabled 2 Billion sales and now the company claims to reach 50 Million consumers across various cities in the country.
