Skylark Drones, a provider of enterprise drone solutions, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by InfoEdge Ventures and IAN Fund in order to develop its geospatial intelligence product and expand into international markets.

AdvantEdge Founders, agriculture solutions company Fowler Westrup, Redstart Labs, IKP, and mining conglomerate Vimson Group all contributed to the fundraise.

Skylark Drones, which has offices in the United States and India, stated that its mission is to improve worksite productivity and safety by providing geospatial intelligence to businesses in industries such as mining, solar power, real estate, agriculture, and inspection.

SkyLark, founded in 2015 by Mughilan Thiru Ramasamy and Mrinal Pai, provides insights to enterprises in mining, solar power, real estate, and agriculture on how to improve worksite productivity through the use of drones for data capture.

According to the statement, it offers its clients the ability to use AI-powered technology products such as 'Spectra' and 'Drone Mission Ops.'

In addition, the company offers project and fleet management solutions for enterprises and individual operators to conduct drone flights, as well as a hardware product for drone manufacturers looking to make products that comply with India's no permission, no take-off (NP:NT) protocol.

“Our vision is to unlock the economic potential of aerial intelligence," said Ramasamy, co-founder and chief executive at Skylark Drones. “The participation of Fowler Westrup, a leading agriculture solutions company, and Vimson Group mining conglomerate will help further strengthen the sector focussed solutions we offer our customers.”

“Aerial intelligence is a theme that has immense potential as it provides significant cost, time and accuracy benefits for large infrastructure companies which face frequent cost and time overruns,” said Amit Behl, partner at InfoEdge Venture Fund. “Being among a limited set of players who have a full-stack offering, we believe that the opportunity for the company (Skylark Drones) is global.”
