Sports Startups 'KIBI Sports' secures $100K in Pre-Seed Funding
Angel investors Saurabh Aggarwal, Arpit Bhardwaj, Vartika Joshi, Suryansh Jain, Pranjal Bansal, Amit Kumar Sahu, Pratibha Rani, and Sushila contributed $100,000 to the pre-seed funding round of sports startup KIBI Sports.
Lakshmana Padmanabhan and others had previously contributed $129K to the Bengaluru-based company.
According to a press release from KIBI Sports, the additional funding will be used to grow the company's operations, improve technology, and scale its platform to reach a larger audience.
KIBI Sports was founded in 2020 by Sagar Rai with the goal of empowering athletes and streamlining the sports ecosystem. This platform does away with the difficulties associated with a lack of funding and professional opportunities.
It seeks to establish a long-lasting sports ecosystem in which organizations, brands, and athletes can coexist peacefully. By providing practical and scalable solutions, it also hopes to revolutionize the way the sports sector functions.
A digital marketplace that facilitates easy transactions for sports equipment and merchandise, a platform that links athletes and institutions with brands for sponsorships, and an efficient system for sports event registration and booking are KIBI Sport’s three main revenue streams.
By creating a comprehensive platform, the platform increases the visibility of underrepresented sports and benefits stakeholders in the sports ecosystem, especially those in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Market research indicates that the Indian sports sector is expected to grow to $100 billion by 2027.
According to KIBI Sports, it has signed several sponsorship agreements, onboarded more than 20,000 athletes, and worked with 800 sports organizations.
