According to Trammell Venture Partners there was a 50% growth in financing for bitcoin startups during pre-seed funding in 2024. The substantial increase stands out because venture capital investments for technology industries experienced general deceleration during the period.

From 2021 until 2024 the percentage of pre-seed financing rose by an exceptionally high 767% as bitcoin startups during their early stages received nearly $1.2 billion in funding total over these four years. The growing bitcoin value from 2024 witnessed a more than 100% increase and ethereum simultaneously experienced a 40% growth spurt. The increased investor interest toward bitcoin and ethereum exchange traded funds (ETFs) occurred due to the SEC approval combined with favourable political conditions following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election.

The overall funding received by bitcoin native startups for all funding stages including Series B experienced a 22% reduction in 2024. The increase in pre-seed funding receives positive predictions for future performance from Christopher Calicott who serves as managing director at Trammell.

Evidence suggests that the cryptocurrency venture capital sector experiences positive recovery trends. The crypto VC sector managed to surpass $1.1 billion in February 2025 while PitchBook forecasts this segment to hit double its current value by the end of 2025. The domestic U.S. venture capital investment sector experienced substantial growth in 2024 as it reached $215 billion despite a 30% improvement.

The combination of higher pre-seed funding together with recovering venture capital investments in a favorable market environment shows bitcoin and cryptocurrency startups can expand in upcoming years.
