Chennai based Sweet Karam Coffee (SKC) , a prominent player in the South Indian food sector, has successfully raised $8 million in its Series A funding round. This investment was led by Peak XV Partners, with existing investor Fireside Ventures also increasing its stake in the company. This latest funding comes nearly two years after SKC initially secured $1.5 million from Fireside Ventures, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory.

The newly acquired funds will be strategically utilized to enhance the company’s distribution channels, introduce new product lines, and modernize its supply chain through the integration of advanced technology. Since its inception in 2015, SKC has garnered a reputation for its authentic range of products, which includes sweets, snacks, and filter coffee, all crafted without the use of preservatives, palm oil, or maida. In addition to these offerings, the company also produces a variety of condiments and ghee, catering to a growing consumer demand for quality and authenticity.

SKC has established a robust online presence, selling its products through its official website, various e-commerce platforms, and quick commerce outlets. The brand proudly claims to serve customers across 32 countries, reflecting its commitment to expanding its international reach and catering to a diverse clientele.

Currently, SKC is actively delivering to 32 countries and operates over 2,500 quick commerce dark stores throughout India, showcasing its extensive distribution network. The company has experienced remarkable growth, with its annual revenue increasing fourfold over the past year. Looking ahead, SKC projects an additional 2.5 times growth in revenue for the upcoming year, indicating strong market demand and effective business strategies.

In a bid to further enhance operational efficiency and execution, SKC has appointed Nandhitha Indermohan as its Chief Operating Officer. Nandhitha, who previously held a position at Unilever, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team, positioning SKC for continued success in the competitive food industry . With these developments, Sweet Karam Coffee is poised to solidify its presence in the market and expand its offerings to meet the evolving needs of consumers.
