SocialSwag, the fan engagement startup launched by Indian actors Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati, has raised close to $1 Million in its seed funding round. Several family offices participated in this round advised by Credence Family Office, a multi-family investment office and consulting firm that partners with many high-net-worth families in India and abroad.

SocialSwag aims to concentrate on two things: education and entertainment. Although several fan engagement apps have successfully launched in the market in recent months, the pairing of these two superstars aims to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to the user.

Via personal interactions and learning forums, SocialSwag will allow consumers to communicate with celebrities, influencers, bloggers, and other inspiring individuals. The app, which combines entertainment and learning, will allow users to engage in a variety of ways, including masterclasses, live chats, shout-outs, and virtual selfies, to name a few.

At present, SocialSwag offers a culinary course by celebrity chef Vicky Ratnani, but it also promises upcoming masterclasses by the likes of Ola cofounder Bhavish Aggarwal, productivity guru Nitin Paranjape, actor Lara Dutta, and photographer Avi Gowarikar among others.

“The funding would be used to launch our initial products. We will be providing fans an option to engage with the experts in various formats like The Master Class, Vocational Academy, Celebrity photo booth, Video Chat/Shout outs among others,” says, Rana Daggubati, Co-Founder, SocialSwag.

Mitesh Shah, co-founder and CEO, Credence Family Office said, “We believe there is a huge merit and scope in this business that allows a wide section of people to have access to leaders from their respective fields and to learn from them directly.”
