Team StartupcityBangalore-based online children life-skills development platform Uable, has secured an undisclosed sum in its seed funding round. The funding round was led by venture capital firm 3one4 Capital, along with participation from Amrish Rau, chief executive of Pine Labs, Jitendra Gupta, founder and CEO of digital banking startup Jupiter Money, Global Founders Capital, the Berlin-based seed and growth venture capital firm co-founded by Rocket Internet chief Oliver Samwer, AngelList and Inflection Point Ventures.

Uable was founded by IIT Roorkee alum Saurabh Saxena, who had previously co-founded and exited two well-known education companies - IIT, engineering and medical entrance teaching institute Lakshya Forum, which was sold to MT Educare in 2013, and Vedantu, one of the country’s most prominent ed-tech companies.
"We have been working with Saurabh ever since he began work on his next idea in the ed-tech. His incredible passion for ensuring quality and focus on building a scalable peer learning model focussed on the overall development of children is something that aligns with our focus in this space," Anurag Ramadasan, head of investments at 3one4 Capital, said.

Uable works with children in the age group of 6-14, to develop their creative potential, offering real-life, role-based programs for them to explore different domains at an early age and develop, what it terms as 'future-ready skills.'

Its programs focus on offering access to roles like author, entrepreneur, detective, coder, and astronaut, among others, across domains, such as, science and technology, art and design, programming and tech, entrepreneurship and investigation and mass communication.

"An antiquated education system is failing our children in an ever-evolving world. Uable is enabling parents, children, and educators to think beyond the classrooms. We are creating learning playgrounds where children are free to imagine a new world, to explore their interests, and to create without the fear of failure," Saxena said.

The startup is also working with schools across Bengaluru and Mumbai that refer students to its platform.
