SI TeamIndian domestic and international carrier Vistara Airlines has signed a codeshare pact with German international airlines Lufthansa. It is the 6th agreement Vistara has struck with an international airline as the Indian domestic carrier is looking forward to expand its overseas reach. This agreement makes Vistara, only the second Indian carrier after Air India to have a codeshare agreement with Lufthansa.

As part of the agreement, Lufthansa plans to add LH designator code to nearly 18 Vistara operated flight

Codesharing allows the passengers of a carrier to travel with its partner carriers to destinations where they do not have reach. Apart from the mega cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai the codeshare agreement will also cover Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi and Pune.

Vistara, which began its operations in January 2015, has five previous Codesharing agreements with British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Silk Air, United Airlines and Japan Airlines. Overall Vistara has 27 interline partnership with other airlines.
