Waste Management Startup 'WeVOIS' raises Rs. 36 crore in Series A
WeVOIS, a Jaipur-based waste management startup, has secured Rs. 36 crore ($4.2 million) in a Series A funding round led by Negen Capital and Vyom Wealth (Polycab family office). Other participants include Venture Catalysts, SN Capital, Warmup Ventures, Marsshot Ventures (Razorpay Founders' Fund), and prominent angel investors.
The fresh capital will be used to scale operations, forge new partnerships, and advance technological innovation across India, the company said in a statement.
With a mission to drive sustainable change, WeVOIS integrates advanced technology to tackle India’s waste management challenges. The funding also represents a significant step toward setting global standards in waste management, contributing to a cleaner and greener future, the company added.
Founded by Abhishek Gupta and Abhinav Shekhar Vashistha, WeVOIS leverages an IoT-based mobile app to optimize waste collection routes for sanitation staff, ensuring no stops are missed. Additionally, the app informs residents about collection schedules and enables real-time tracking of collection vehicles.
“We plan to establish a cutting-edge center of excellence for advanced waste processing, the first of its kind in India. With our prototypes ready for commercialization, we aim to significantly reduce waste and its environmental footprint. This initiative will position India as a global leader in waste management technologies,” said Co-Founder and CTO Abhinav Vashistha.
Neil Bahal, Founder of Negen Capital, highlighted the sector’s transformation driven by improved regulations and rising awareness. “WeVOIS’s innovative technology addresses critical waste management issues while delivering substantial value to investors and communities,” he noted.
WeVOIS’s strategic growth and technological advancements aim to revolutionize waste management, aligning with broader sustainability goals for a cleaner planet.
