WestCap Group Infuses $10 Million Capital into Online Gaming Startup Zupee

Gurgaon based online gaming startup Zupee has raised additional capital of $10 million in a round led by WestCap Group (WestCap), a US based growth equity firm. The round also saw participation from existing investor Matrix Partners India.

This is the second round of funding successfully secured by Zupee within the last 12 months; earlier in April 2020 the startup had raised $8 million. With the completion of the latest capital raise Zupee has so far raised $19 million in funding. According to a company statement the fresh capital will be utilized to further scale up the venture, expand market reach, enhance user penetration for Zupee's platform, and focus on delivering an exceptional and truly rewarding user experience.

Founded in 2018 by Dilsher Singh Malhi and Siddhant Saurabh, Zupee is a skill based gaming app. It runs live quiz tournaments surrounding topics ranging from Bollywood, Hollywood, Sports to Math, Cities and Capitals among others. Users can can play against one another and win cash prizes.

The company said that it has witnessed exponential month on month growth in 2020 and the current round of funding will enable Zupee to double up its scaling plans.
