WhiteHat Jr Secures $10 million funding in Series A

Team Startup CityEdtech firm WhiteHat Jr bagged $10 million in Series-A funding round which was led by existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Omidyar Network. Owl ventures also took part in the funding round as a new investor. Focused primarily on tech startups, this is the second time that Owl Ventures has invested in the Indian startup market.

WhiteHat Jr assists kids aged 6 to 14 in building commercial-ready games, animations and online apps using the fundamentals of coding. The company had previously acquired $1.3 million in November 2018 from Nexus and Omidyar Network in seed funding.


The edtech startup claims to have had conducted over 1,50,000 student trials and has a network of over 500 teachers on-board. The company is also seeing a 100 per cent student and revenue growth month-on-month.


Centered on product creation, the startup has developed its own coding curriculum and imparts lessons to its students via live feed and online interactive classes. The new funds that are infused in the company are said to be employed to strengthen their technology platform and expand the course curriculum.

Karan Bajaj, the Chief Executive of WhiteHat Jr said, “Our mission is to harness the natural creativity of kids and shift their mindset from an early age from being consumers to creators of technology.”
