As of the month August 2024, nearly 398 drone start-ups have emerged and currently they are functioning all over the country and 150+ start-ups are established three years ago when the regulations on drones were relaxed. By holding this momentous count, India surpassed the global giants China (298 startups) and UK (298 startups). The average funding received by the top drone startups in India accounted $19.4 million in the month of August which is four times greater than the total funding rate of the year 2021 - $5.1 million. Whereas, the average funding size in Australia stood $18.5 million in August. Under the PLI-production-linked incentive schemes, the Indian government has watered Rs.120 crore capital for drone manufacturers and drone part manufacturers over the last three years.
