The logistics industry deals with the efficient forward and backward flow of goods and services. Thanks to the country’s rapidly growing economy the logistics industry in India is booming. This growth is being driven by a number of factors including the increasing demand for e-Commerce and online shopping, expansion of the retail sector and the government’s infrastructure development initiatives. Today, with multiple tech-enabled companies working together, there is scope for the unorganized logistics industry to become an organized one. The Electric Vehicle (EV) industry is new to the logistics industry and holds space for growth and development through technology and has become a field where new thoughts and ideas can be entertained.

Established in 2021 and based out of Surat, Gujarat, Evify is a green logistics company which aims to provides end-to-end logistics to all e-Commerce clients through EVs.

The company regards technology as a game changer in the industry. “We aim to decarbonize last mile logistics in all the major tier II cities in India through our fleet of electric vehicles. We believe the present unorganized logistics sector needs a tech based sustainable green revolution to create a better standard of living for the gig workers

and to reduce the carbon emissions in the long run”, informs Pragya Mittal, Co-Founder.

Benefits for Stakeholders
What differentiates Evify from other players in the market is that it creates a model which benefits both the e-Commerce companies and the riders. e-Commerce companies face issues with sustaining riders and Evify has been their partner where it provides them with riders on an assured basis for hassle-free operations. On the other hand, the riders are benefited because Evify provides them with an electric vehicle to cut down cost of EMIs, petrol, and more. Apart from this, it strives to create a better standard of living for the riders by providing unlimited accidental insurance, PFs, and medical covers. “We are trying to create a secondary line of credit for riders wherein they can withdraw their accrued salary. Along with this we are also creating a parallel credit score that will enable them to withdraw loans from banks in the future”, adds Pragya.

Evify is the startup of its kind with a carbon negative fleet of electric vehicles which will help to have a positive impact on the environment

Robust Roadmap
Evify has operated in Surat for almost a year now and has attained clientele with giants like Big Basket, Swiggy, Flipkart, e-Com Express and Blue Dart. Through constant Research and Development, the company has been able to develop a platform to check the various aspects related to business where technology can play a vital role. It has also managed to develop a full stack platform which is a one stop solution to riders, vendors, vehicles, operations team, managers, financers, clients and other stakeholders. Evify is working on installing a new device in its fleet which will help detect movement of riders outside their parameters and remotely immobilize the vehicle from the dashboard.

Evify has seen exponential growth in the last one year. It has started its operations in Ahmedabad this month and will be entering Baroda and Rajkot in the coming months. For 2023, Evify aims to reach the target of deploying 4000 vehicles and capturing most of Gujarat as the first EV company and then expand its services to other states of the country. Evify is also striving to set up charging points in various parts of the city, in which they start their operations to facilitate hassle-free operations for the riders.
