From a hotel management background to being a corporate professional turned start-up debutant, Sumbul Siddiqui’s journey to start her own venture in the online grocery space is nothing less than an inspiring story in itself. The idea was derived from a series conversation, particularly on the day-to-day struggles faced by her friends across the Hospitality industry in getting the right supplies at the low price, overall helping the restaurateurs to reduce the food cost. Realizing that as technology has come as a blessing and there was no such player in the grocery space that could help them source good brands with multiple product lines in best prices, Sumbul decided to couple her both hotel and corporate experiences with possibly utilizing the credentials to create a tech-enabled platform for solving the underlying issue of procurement.

“Identifying that the issue was big, it strengthened my belief more and made me search for the right set of people to build a platform that digitalizes procurement process in the Hospitality industry. And as it is said, luck by chance; I met Abhishek, over a cup of coffee when I overheard his discussion on the role of CTO on how they cannot only be techies but understand the business operations too. Looking at this I walked up to him. Thus, in a
short while, our passion to develop a future-centric platform to fulfill the market needs clicked and hence, Jumbogrocery came into being,” explicates Sumbul Siddiqui, Founder& Director,Jumbogrocery.
